Forbidden Adhesives

Adhesives contain asbestos are forbidden to use because asbestos material already banned to use in all of manufacture. Asbestos containing adhesive is commonly used to help bond carpet, flooring and ceiling tiles in building prior to 1980s. It was also used to patch and seal joints on boilers and pipes in ships. Asbestos use in this product because it can make strong bond to many surfaces that could withstand to heat and even fire.

The various types adhesives known to contain asbestos include:

• Asphaltic cutback adhesive, this black color and usually beneath vinyl tiles and flooring.
• Cement adhesive; this also called as furnace cement or stove cement and is a type of joint compound. To replace this material in cheap price is difficult because asbestos is resistant to high temperature.

• Lagging adhesive
• Mastic adhesive
• Many seals in industrial parts.
