Thermoplastic Components

The most important thermoplastic components are the polyvinyl acetals, e.g. polyvinyl formal and butyral, and synthetic rubbers, in particular nitrile rubbers. It is of historical interest that the synthetic rubbers were the first used thermoplastic components in two polymer adhesives.

Also of use as a thermoplastic component and of increasing importance are the soluble nylons. The examples of two polymers adhesive will now be discussed in their appropriate classes.
