Thermoplastic Components

The most important thermoplastic components are the polyvinyl acetals, e.g. polyvinyl formal and butyral, and synthetic rubbers, in particular nitrile rubbers. It is of historical interest that the synthetic rubbers were the first used thermoplastic components in two polymer adhesives.

Also of use as a thermoplastic component and of increasing importance are the soluble nylons. The examples of two polymers adhesive will now be discussed in their appropriate classes. Furthermore about thermoplastic resin that already discuses on last articles that there are five most important chemical classes of thermoplastic adhesive are:

  • The cellulosic plastics
  • The vinyl polymers, include of polystyrene
  • The acrylic polymers
  • The synthetic rubbers
  • The Polyamides
